    Job Description:

    The Advanced Technical Support (ATS) IP Security and Control Plane Services Team provides Tier3 support for technology insertion, network reliability, and the prevention and mitigation of attacks for various technologies and infrastructure including Enterprise, IP TV, VoIP, Cloud Computing, DNS, and Mobility. The specific networks and services are Conexus, AIM, Cloud Computing, Mobility, Network Based Firewall, and DDoS Protection services.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Actively support the Ericsson and Nokia MGCF Complexes in resolving advanced issues in any of the platforms.
    • Collaborate with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal solutions (workload placement, network evolution to packet, sunsetting, capacity management)
    • Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance
    • Implement configuration as code practices integrated with CI/CD processes and tools
    • Identify, analyze, and resolve network function vulnerabilities and deployment issues
    • Meet with technical operations and network planning to assess future growth and capacity requirements
    • Monitor latest industry trends and relevant technologies and drive application as appropriate
    • Work independently, guided by organizational goals and objectives. Lead or participate in multiple projects of varying complexity and breadth
    • Resolve IP networking issues in the Voice Core network
    • Carry out additional duties as assigned

    Job Requirements/Qualifications:

    • Entry into this title will require Technical Title Plan (TTP) Board Approval.
    • Candidate shall have a PhD in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
    • Five or more years experience with networks, network protocols, and IP networks and at least seven years of experience with web development using PHP, Perl, Action script and Java programming through all phases of the software development lifecycle
    • A strong understanding of security technology in the areas of VPN, firewalls, proxy, and IDS/IPS as well as experience in Linux, Solaris and Windows
    • Candidate must have a strong communication skills both verbally and written as well as strong problem solving skills
    • Ability to balance and prioritize work and work independently and as part of a team
    • Previous experience as a system tester and experience in a lab test environment
